When I started photography I wasn't sure exactly what I should keep in my go-to camera bag. I chatted with other photographers and learned what works best for me and my workflow. If you are wondering what you should keep in your camera bag, this is for you!
I wanted to create a “What’s in My Bag?” blog post with a list of all my fav photography gear.
This setup is ideal for my personal style of shooting, and is what I’ve found over time that works best for me! Find the photography gear that fits how you shoot + what you do.
*The list of my gear and what I use will all have links to my Amazon Storefront*
Main Photography Equipment
Camera: Canon R8 & RP
I have two camera bodies that are my lifeline. I love my mirrorless camera and with practice, you can master a mirrorless! They are lightweight and I am OBSESSED with them.

Lenses: 28-70mm
I have been using my 28-70mm lens and it is a GAME CHANGER! I had to get used to the bulky feeling for a bit but it never lets me down. It is so versatile and I use it in every session. If you are wanting to save up for a lens, DO IT!

Other Gear + Must Haves
Polaroid: Fujifilm Instax MiniEvo Hybrid
This polaroid Camera is always with me for my sessions! I can print from my phone and give my clients a little gift from their session. It adds so much to the client experience.
SD Cards: SanDisk Extreme Pro
I’ve always used these SD cards and they’ve been amazing! Choose the right one for you depending on the size card you prefer to shoot with.
Batteries: Canon Lp-E17
These batteries are compatible with both of my cameras! They are great.
Hard Drive: Lacie 1TB
It has SOOOO much storage and goes with my everywhere when I editing!
SD Card Reader (Mac Book Pro Friendly): 7-in-1 USB C Friendly
CAMERA Bags + Travel
When I was trying to choose my camera bag it took my a few weeks to really find one that suited all my needs. A few things I looked at were:
- How often you’ll travel with it (driving +flying)
- What type of camera you have (mirrorless vs. DSLR)
- How big your lenses are
- How big do you want it to be?
- The comfort of the shoulder straps/how much it’ll weigh during sessions/elopements
Sling Bag: Modern + Chic Cling Bag-Extra Large
I keep extra batteries, SD cards, car keys, and my phone in here! I even put clients phones or items while we are in session to prevent the phone bulge.
